Frank and Louise Boulineau capitalized on the level of service they delivered and the personal attention that each and every customer received who made Cherry Grove their beach and fishing vacation destination.  Growth was steady, but did not come easy.  In 1954 Hurricane Hazel totally destroyed the store, along with most of Cherry Grove and this coastal area.  After a year or so of rebuilding a new and much larger store was opened.  Soon after that Frank senior enlisted the help of his son Frank, and the store enjoyed a new steady growth that was the result of always recognizing and delivering the many demands of the growing community and the new expanding customer base that was finding Cherry Grove the preferred place to vacation.

By the late 60's and early 70's, Frank Boulineau III and his wife, Elizabeth had expanded the "little store" to over 10,000 sq. ft with other expansions in the planning stages. 

With the combination of strong Christian principles and values, a solid work ethic and keen foresight, Frank and Elizabeth set forth on reshaping the oceanfront area of Cherry Grove.  Responding to the many needs and requests of the community in the mid 80's, the store was expanded to over 50,000 sq. ft. becoming the largest in the area at that time.

Boulineau's Beach Buggies is the newest company and business addition to the Boulineau Group of Companies in the North Myrtle Beach area.  Boulineau's has a long and storied history of professional retailing and service in the North Strand.  For over 60 years, Boulineau's of Cherry Grove has been the favorite headquarters for all who visit North Myrtle Beach.  As our namesake says - It truly is "Where Everybody Goes!

In 1948 Frank and Louise Boulineau opened Boulineau's, a small community grocery store in Cherry Grove Beach, which at the time had fewer than 100 houses.  The small service-driven grocery store has grown into the largest shopping complex and group of retail facilities in Cherry Grove and is also one of the area's largest and most respected employers.

1998, the main store added a second floor with two glass elevators, food court and other      specialty departments throughout, almost doubling the size of the store. This expansion has resulted in one of the country's most unique grocery stores, complete with a food court and cafeteria, creating a truly unique shopping complex as well as the area's most recognizable trademark, our lighthouse observation tower overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Throughout the next 10 years the company's growth has continued with new businesses and acquisitions of businesses and commercial real estate, some of which are listed below.

NEWEST - Boulineau's Beach Buggies - Golf Cart Rental & Sales - Golf carts are fast becoming the preferred mode of beach transportation, whether you are a visitor or resident, golf carts are an excellent and environmentally friendly way of getting around the beach.  Our newest addition had been created due to the obvious need for a permanent and professional rental and sales company in an environment that provides a premium and dependable car for all, seven days a week.

Our new company is being developed with the same integrity, dedication and level of customer service that has been the trademark of Boulineau's Inc. since 1948.  For over 60 years, Boulineau's has been the beach's most respected and trusted business leader. These past successes produced by hard work and long hours earned the company and its owners a well-earned, far-reaching reputation of impeccable integrity, values and service.
